The breathing techniques of Abdominal breathing and Numbered breathing are outlined in this section of the course. Here you will be shown how to carry out the breathing exercises. It is vital that you utilize the abdominal breathing techniques as you do your meditation. Abdominal breathing is the standard way to breath during a meditation.
The numbered breathing technique is a great breathing exercise that you can carry out in your everyday life. It is a technique that allows the lower one third of your lungs to be activated as you exhale. Hence you are fully clearing out your lungs and energizing the diaphragm area. The diaphragm plays an important part in the breathing process.

The diaphragm is a dome-shaped muscle, which separates our chest and abdomen. When we breathe in the diaphragm tightens, flattens and moves down, sucking air into the lungs. As the diaphragm moves down, it pushes the abdominal contents down, which forces the abdominal wall out. When we breathe out the diaphragm relaxes, air passes out of the lungs and the abdominal wall flattens..Abdominal (diaphragmatic) breathing is the most efficient and relaxed way of getting enough air into your lungs. Breathing too quickly, too deeply or irregularly can result in unpleasant symptoms such as dizziness, faintness, headache, visual disturbance, tingling, chest pain, palpitations, sighing, yawning and excessive sniffing. It can commonly become a cause of anxiety.
This numbered breathing exercise is based on a full inhalation count of 5 and a pause of 3 counts. The exhalation count must develop and be longer than 5 counts. Your abdominal area expands as you inhale and it retracts as you exhale. During the inhalation and exhalation process you are activating your Diaphragm. The idea of this is to allow the diaphragm to activate the lower 1/3 of your lungs especially on the exhalation. This is clearing out the unwanted contents of your lungs completely and fully energizing your lungs with clear, clean air.
It is important that you find your own exhalation count as everyone will have a personal exhalation count. As the days and weeks pass you may find that your exhalation count is getting longer and eventually you will find the optimum exhalation count that is right for you.

This is a long Chakra meditation. It goes through each chakra in depth. In the background there are very positive suggestions about enhancing your chakras. Its not unusual to fall asleep during the MP3 track. Some of my clients listen to it at night time when they go to bed. They tend to drift off asleep as they listen to it.
